Vice President Joe Biden went on a shopping spree at Costco today. It's not really primary-related news because this Costco happened to be in DC and not Iowa or New Hampshire. But it's a fun story about Biden being Biden that I couldn't resist posting.
I'm a big fan of the guy. I think he enjoys being a politician more than any other human being possibly could (which I mean as a compliment). He's just a very genuine person and always looks like he's having a good time handing out handshakes and mixing it up with the public.
If you want to learn more about our current VP and possible future (third time's the charm!) presidential contender, I'd highly recommend Richard Ben Cramer's "What It Takes" about the 1988 Republican and Democratic primaries. It's basically like reading 6 biographies at once, but it does an amazing job of giving you a sense of these individuals and what drives different people to run for the highest office in the land.
